Rachel Horton

Senior Speech Pathologist and Director of Sunnyside Speech Pathology since June 2023

Rachel is an experienced Speech Pathologist who completed a Bachelor of Speech, Hearing and Language Sciences at Macquarie University, and a Masters of Speech Language Pathology at Sydney University. Rachel worked as a swimming instructor and supervisor during her time studying, and has always had a passion for working with children and their families.

Rachel has experience working as a team leader and clinical educator, supervising students completing their Masters degrees at the University of Technology Sydney. She has additionally mentored new graduate and early career Speech Pathologists, supporting them to develop their clinical skills.

Since graduating, Rachel has worked in the private practice sector, working with individuals aged between 1.5 years and 80 years old. Rachel has extensive experience working with neurodivergent individuals and takes pride in collaborating with individuals and their support networks to focus on functional communication and social goals. She additionally has experience supporting families on the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

When she is not with her clients, Rachel enjoys reading and catching up with her book club, spending time with her family and dog, Samson, and drinking different types of tea!
